Last Known Bottle Of Nippy Sweetie On Display In Glasgow
Scottish-born actor/comedian Billy Connolly had a brief fling with fame stateside [in the television series “Head of the Class” in the early 1990s] but has always been a huge hit in his native land. Back in the day – specifically, the 1970s – when Connolly was honing his comedic chops in and around Scotland, he had his own miniature bottles of whisky on sale to help, you know, appreciate his shows. The last known bottle of those – affectionately referred to as Nippy Sweetie – has been put on display at the People’s Palace Museum in Glasgow as part of The Art of Billy Connolly display.
The tiny bottle of 37.5% alcohol content [75 proof] whisky features a picture of the young Connolly. The Art of Billy Connolly runs through February 18, 2016.
