Michael Owen Takes Up The Beautiful Whisky Game

Less than six months after David Beckham lent his famous name to Diageo for their upcoming Haig Club whisky, another English footballer – Michael Owen – has lent his name to Spey Whisky in a three-year deal to be Spey’s “global ambassador”. Owen retired last year after playing 17 years for a combination of England’s national team as well as club teams Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Stoke City, scoring 163 club goals and 40 goals for the national team.
Spey will make a special limited edition Spey Whisky that will be branded by Owen and released later in 2014.
