Port Ellen Reveals Another Single Malt In Untold Stories Series
Islay distiller Port Ellen has released Port Ellen 40 Years Old – a single malt as part of their Untold Stories series.
Port Ellen 40 Years Old emerged from nine ‘rogue’ casks, was bottled at 50.9% alcohol by volume [101.8 proof] and is said to contain notes of burnt tangerine skin, roasted coffee, leather and wood spice.
Only 1,380 bottles of Port Ellen 40 Years Old is being made available to the public worldwide [Diageo is donating 20 signed bottles to the Islay Fèis Ìle Committee – the festival had to be cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic] for $7,940 per 700ml bottle.
