Rare Whisky Up On The Block
A pair of ultra-rare whiskies – Macallan 62-Year-Old and Mortlach 70-Year-Old – will be put up on the block at the upcoming Bonhams whisky sale next month in Scotland. Notes of fruit, ginger and cigar leaf are said to be present in the Macallan 62.
Meanwhile, the Mortlach 70 comes swathed in a Brazilian Rosewood case as Bottle #53 of 54 bottles created on October 15, 1938. It has an alcohol content of 46.1% [92.2 proof] and is said to have fruit and smoke notes. Both whiskies have their price ranges set between $32,000 and $50,000.
The Bonhams whisky sale is scheduled to be held in Edinburgh on October 1, 2014.
