Islay single malts Scarabus 10 Year Old and Scarabus Batch Strength have been released by UK-based bottler Hunter Laing & Co.
Scarabus 10 Year Old was aged for a minimum of 10 years in refill, ex-bourbon and virgin American oak casks, bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to contain notes of Islay peat smoke, sea salt and vanilla.
Scarabus Batch Strength was collected from a small selection of Scarabus single malt casks, bottled at 57% alcohol by volume [114 proof] and is said to contain notes of Islay peat smoke, leather and vanilla.
Both single malts are being made available to buy from the Ardnahoe Distillery on Islay and online – the Scarabus 10 Year Old for $60 per 700ml bottle and the Scarabus Batch Strength for $65 per 700ml bottle.
