Scot Rockers Get Their Own Whisky-A-Go-Go
It used to be just getting a recording deal with a major studio was a big deal but now, apparently, you have to do a bit more to make yourself known in the musical industry and Scottish rockers, Mogwai, have done just that – getting their own whisky. The new RockAct81W Scotch Whisky is a 114.2 proof [57.1% alcohol content] single cask, nine-year-old from the Glenallachie Distillery in Speyside, Scotland. But, as always, there is a catch – only 324 numbered bottles of RockAct81W will be produced and none of those are planned for sale across the pond. If you fancy some of Mogwai’s whisky, you will have to go to The Good Spirits liquor store in Glasgow next week when it goes on sale on January 28, 2014.
If you are fortunate enough to snag a bottle of RockAct81W, make sure to bring along 55 pounds [about 92 American dollars]. For now, you can check out the Mogwai Whisky site.
