Talisker Ventures Out Into The Wild Blue
Isle of Skye-based Talisker Distillery has released The Wild Blue, a limited edition single malt whisky geared toward supporting ocean conservation and coastal habitat restoration efforts with its sales. Talisker partnered with the Blue Marine Foundation, a UK ocean conservation charity, for the release.
As for the whisky itself, it was finished for 16 months in select red wine casks from South Africa’s coastal regions, bottled at 48.2% alcohol by volume [96.4 proof] and is said to impart notes of cranberry, pepper and sea spray.
Talisker The Wild Blue is being made available in a 100% recycled glass bottle and carton-free packaging for $110 per bottle with Talisker making a donation of $150,000 to the Blue Marine Foundation, regardless of the number of bottles sold.
To celebrate the launch, Talisker will host The Wild Blue Challenge on Friday, June 6, 2025 – just ahead of World Ocean Day on June 8, 2025 – where celebrities and swimming enthusiasts are invited to participate in an ocean swim against the clock. For every kilometer they swim, Talisker will donate an additional $200 to the Blue Marine Foundation.
