Tamdhu Unveils Dalbeallie Dram 003
Speyside distiller Tamdhu has released Dalbeallie Dram 003 – a limited edition single malt whisky named after the Dalbeallie train station next to the distillery which was instrumental in bringing sherry oak casks from Spain to Speyside, Scotland until it closed in 1965.
Tamdhu Dalbeallie Dram 003 was matured in European and American oak Oloroso sherry-seasoned casks from Jerez, Spain, before being bottled at 60.7% alcohol by volume [121.4 proof] and is said to contain notes of banana, toasted marshmallow and vanilla.
Tamdhu Dalbeallie Dram 003 was originally intended to be launched at this year’s Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, which was eventually cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Only 1,000 bottles of Tamdhu Dalbeallie Dram 003 single malt whisky are being made available – exclusively via Tamdhu’s online store – for $110 per 700ml bottle.
