The Balvenie Launches Fourth Chapter Of DCS Compendium Series
The Balvenie has released the fourth in their DCS Compendium series, and titled it – Expecting the Unexpected.
The Balvenie DCS Compendium Chapter Four whiskies include 1971 – the oldest whisky in the range – matured in refill European oak Oloroso Sherry butts which is said to contain notes of brown sugar, fruit and spices; the 1982 vintage has been matured in European oak Oloroso Sherry hogsheads and is said to contain notes of dark chocolate; the 1991 whisky is matured in Spanish oak and is said to contain notes of toasted almonds; the 1999 has been matured in a refill American oak hogshead and is said to contain notes of coconut and the final whisky is the 2009, matured in a first-fill American oak Bourbon barrel said to contain notes of smoke and peat.
The Balvenie DCS Compendium: Chapter Four ‘Expecting the Unexpected’ will be available in November 2018 for $37,690 for the set.
