The Macallan Reveals M Collection
The Macallan has released a trio of limited edition single malt whiskies to make up what they are referring to as their M Collection – designed to celebrate their self-identified ‘six pillars’ [natural color, mastery, small spirit stills, estate, oak casks, and sherry seasoning].
The first three whiskies released as part of The Macallan M Collection are The Macallan M 2022 Release, The Macallan M Black 2022 Release, and The Macallan M Copper 2022 Release.
The Macallan M 2022 Release (45% ABV) was matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks, bottled at 45% alcohol by volume [90 proof] and is said to contain notes of chocolate, dried fruit and spice.
The Macallan M Black Release (46% ABV) is a peated whisky that was aged in ‘rare’, black-ended sherry-seasoned oak casks, bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to contain notes of – not surprisingly – peat smoke.
The Macallan M Copper (42% ABV) was bottled at 42% alcohol by volume [84 proof] and si said to contain notes of fruit and sweet malt.
The Macallan M 2022 Release is being made available at priced at $6,750; The Macallan M Black 2022 Release is being made available at $7,600 and The Macallan M Copper 2022 Release is being made available for $8,000 – all three are contained in 700ml decanters and all three have worldwide availability.
