What Has Benromach Got Up Their Sleeves?
Time [and Gordon and MacPhail] has awakened the Benromach Distillery and produced a rare 35-year-old Speyside single malt Scotch whisky.
In a distillery established in 1898 but closed since 1983, G&M purchased it in 1993, modernized it, then re-opened it. But the whisky being released today comes from 1983, specifically, from casks which had been left behind at its closing.
The Benromach 35-Year-Old is said to have notes of cinnamon, oak and pear and has been bottled at 43% alcohol content [86 proof].
Benromach 35-Year-Old is available for $605 per bottle beginning in February 2016.
