Whisky Illuminati Schools You On Speyside Single Malts With Solaria Series
The Whisky Illuminati have released their Solaria Series – five Speyside single malts designed to showcase how the liquid evolves in oak over the course of four years. Subsequent releases are currently scheduled to occur in 2021 and 2023.
The Solaria Series consists of:
· Solaria Series distilled at Royal Brackla Distillery (68.0% alcohol by volume/136 proof, 150 bottles)
· Solaria Series distilled at Aultmore Distillery (67.5% ABV/135 proof, 120 bottles)
· Solaria Series distilled at Glentauchers Distillery (63.4% ABV/126.8 proof, 150 bottles)
· Solaria Series distilled at Craigellachie Distillery (67.9% ABV/135.8 proof, 100 bottles)
· Solaria Series distilled at ‘Artis Secretum’ (67.1% ABV/134.2 proof, 150 bottles)
[The final bottling’s distillery has been kept secret – ‘Artis Secretum’ translates as ‘trade secret’ in Latin].
Each expression was matured in first-fill Spanish oak Sherry butt casks, with the exception of the single malt from Craigellachie Distillery, which was matured in a first-fill Spanish oak Sherry hogshead cask.
Whisky Illuminati’s The Solaria Series is being made available for $145 per bottle.
