Jose Cuervo Purchases Pendleton Whiskey
Proximo Spirits, an American subsidiary of Becle, the parent company of Mexican spirits conglomerate Jose Cuervo, has purchased Pendleton Whiskey from Hood River Distillers for a reported price of $205 million.
“The Pendleton Whisky brand will fill an important strategic position in our portfolio,” said Mark Teasdale, president and CEO of Proximo Spirits, in a press release accompanying the announcement. “We expect to build on the remarkable success of Pendleton using our resources as a full-service, global spirits company.”
Pendleton Whiskey was launched in 2003 and currently sells three million liters per year.
Hood River Distillers will continue to bottle Pendleton on behalf of Proximo, while the companies expect the deal to close during the first quarter of 2018.
