Whistlepig Debuts 12-Year-Old Maple Creme Brulee
Vermont-based WhistlePig has released WhistlePig 12 Year Rye Single Finish Maple Crème Brûlée – a limited edition 12-year-old rye in re-charred Vermont maple syrup barrels – for the holiday season.
WhistlePig 12 Year Rye Single Finish Maple Crème Brûlée began life in barrels of aged maple syrup (which WhistlePig calls Maple Crème Brûlée Casks) then re-charred and rebuilt the barrels for a month-long finish before bottling at 43% alcohol by volume (86 proof) and is said to produce notes of caramel, spice and, of course, maple.
WhistlePig 12 Year Rye Single Finish Maple Crème Brûlée is being made available from the official WhistlePig website and across the USA for $125 per 750ml bottle.
