Dekanta Unveils New Japanese Whisky
New Japanese whisky releases have been few and far between in recent years but to celebrate their 10th anniversary, Japanese retailer Dekantā has released a six-year-old Japanese whisky from the Wakatsuru Saburomaru Distillery.
Since their birth in June 2015, Dekantā has offered an extensive range of Japanese spirits as well as launched their own independent bottling range featuring rare single malts and exclusive blends.
To celebrate all that, Dekantā has released a single cask Japanese whisky created at the Wakatsuru Saburomaru Distillery in the city of Tonami, located in the Toyama prefecture which was matured for more than six years in a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel, bottled at 56% alcohol by volume [112 proof] and is said to contain notes of coconut, toasted marshmallow, Islay peat and vanilla.
Only a mere 195 bottles of Wakatsuru Saburomaru 6 Years Old Dekantā Exclusive whisky are being made available for $220 from the official Dekantā website.
