Ki One Gets Hot With Chili Pepper-Infused Whisky
South Korea-based Ki One Whisky Distillery has released Ki One Red Pepper Cask Chef Edward Lee Edition – a limited edition single malt whisky aged in red chili pepper-infused casks – created in collaboration with Kentucky-based chef Edward Lee.
Ki One Red Pepper Cask Chef Edward Lee Edition was matured for three years in barrels infused with hong-gochu red chili peppers from Seoul’s Jayang Traditional Market, bottled at 57.5% alcohol by volume [115 proof] and is said to contain notes of red chili pepper – of course – along with fruit and vanilla.
Only 1500 bottles of Ki One Red Pepper Cask Chef Edward Lee Edition are being made available – 200 of which are being made available in the USA – for $135 per 700ml bottle.
