Abasolo Whisky Debuts In The UK
Mexican spirits company Casa Lumbre is releasing Abasolo whisky – said to be the first Mexican whisky to be launched in the UK – and distilled at the Destilería y Bodega Abasolo distillery, claimed to be the ‘first’ purpose-built whisky distillery in Mexico and residing at 7,800 feet above sea level.
Casa Lumbre Abasolo is made from 100% Mexican Cacahuazintle corn, double-distilled in copper stills, matured in new toasted and used oak casks, bottled at 43% alcohol by volume [86 proof] and is said to contain notes of coconut, orange and roasted corn.
Casa Lumbre Abasolo is being made available for $44 per 700ml bottle.
