Aberlour Unveils 50-Year-Old

Speyside-based Aberlour Distillery has released Aberlour 50 Year Old – their first 50-year-old single malt whisky – but with a significant catch….only a mere 20 bottles will be made available worldwide.

Aberlour 50 Year Old was bottled at 45.2% alcohol by volume [90.4 proof] and is said to impart notes of apricot, cinnamon, hazelnut, nutmeg and the ubiquitous vanilla.

It is highly unlikely that any regular normal whisky imbibing person will have access to purchasing one of the 20 available bottles of Aberlour 50 Year Old floating about, but if a massive lottery is won and access is magically achieved, then said bottle will cost approximately $40,700.
