Berry Bros & Rudd Offer Nordic Collection
London-based bottlers, Berry Bros & Rudd have released The Nordic Casks – single cask whiskies highlighting the four Nordic regions of Norway’s Myken, Sweden’s High Coast, Finland’s Kyrö and Denmark’s Fary Lochan.
The Norwegian entry is a 2017 single malt from the island of Myken, bottled at 61.4% alcohol by volume (122.8 proof) and is said to contain notes of ash, lime and wild garlic on the nose. Only 246 bottles of Norway’s Myken single malt are being made available.
The Swedish contribution is a 2013 sherried single malt from the High Coast region, bottled at 60.9% alcohol by volume (121.8 proof) and is said to contain notes of blackcurrant, prunes, seaweed, smoked bacon and tobacco. Only 290 bottles of Sweden’s High Coast single malt are being made available.
The Finnish selection is a 2016 malt rye from Kyrö region, bottled at 54.6% alcohol by volume (109.2 proof) and is sadi to contain notes of banana, butter, pine needles and vanilla. Only 256 bottles of Finland’s Kyro are being made available.
The Danish choice is a 2014 ‘nettle-smoked’ single malt whisky from the family-owned Fary Lochan distillery in the south Jutland region of the country, bottled at 60.9% alcohol by volume [121.8 proof] and said to contain notes of lime, melon and nettles. Only 243 bottles of Denmark’s Fary Lochan single malt are being made available.
All four whiskies in The Nordic Casks are currently scheduled to be made available in September 2021 in the UK for $205 per bottle.
Additionally, Berry Bros & Rudd will host a live virtual tasting on their Facebook and YouTube pages on Thursday, September 2, 2021, and will be providing consumers with the opportunity to purchase limited edition tasting packs containing the whiskies in their 30ml-miniature bottle forms for $50 from the Berry Bros & Rudd website.
