Bowmore Adds A Pair Of Single Malts To Their Timeless Series
Islay-based Bowmore has added a pair of single malt whiskies to their Timeless Series – a 27-year-old single malt and a 31-year-old [which will only be available in travel retail venues].
The Bowmore 27-year-old single malt was matured in both sherry and ex-bourbon casks for 15 years, then another 12 years in first-fill Oloroso butts before being bottled at cask strength 52.7% alcohol by volume (105.4 proof) and is said to contain notes of beeswax, leather and tobacco.
The Bowmore 31-year-old single malt was matured in ex-bourbon casks for 29 years, then finished for two years in Spanish oak Matusalem sherry-seasoned butts before being bottled at 45.4% alcohol by volume (90.8 proof) and is said to contain notes of honey, peppermint and vanilla.
The Bowmore 27 Years Old is being made available for $1,525 per bottle while only 3,000 bottles of the Bowmore 31-year-old are being made available for $2,100 per bottle.
