Federalist 12 Whiskey Coming Next Week
Journeyman Distillery in Michigan will be releasing their Federalist 12 whiskey – a special rye whiskey – next week. Federalist 12 commemorates Alexander Hamilton’s so-called Federalist 12 essay, a pre-cursor to the famed Whiskey Rebellion, in which he proposed a tax on whiskey. The rye whiskey produced by Journeyman Distillery is said to closely resemble the recipe that was once enjoyed by the nation’s first president, George Washington.
Less than 2000 bottles of Federalist 12 will be released to nine states – California, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Wisconsin – for $50 per bottle beginning on February 14, 2015.
