Fuji Reveals 50th Anniversary Single Malt
Japanese whisky distillery Fuji revealed a limited edition whisky celebrating the 50th anniversary of Fuji Gotemba Distillery by using distillate from its inaugural production run in 1973.
Fuji 50th Anniversary Single Malt includes whiskies ranging in age from 12 to 50 years old, was aged in a combination of barrels including bourbon, beer, Oloroso sherry, and French oak red wine, bottled at 52% alcohol by volume [104 proof] and is said to offer notes of apricot, brown sugar, caramel, melon, peach and pineapple.
Only 3,000 bottles of Fuji 50th Anniversary Single Malt are being made available overall with 400 of those heading to the USA where they will be distributed amongst the states of California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Texas and Washington for $500 per bottle.
