Glen Grant Reveals Spendy Single Malt
Not having anything to do whatsoever with the impending St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, Speyside’s Glen Grant Distillery has released a 65-year-old single malt whisky as the inaugural release in their Splendours Collection, named after the distillery’s Garden of Splendours and the 65-year-old specifically celebrates the garden’s Himalayan blue poppy.
Glen Grant Splendours 65 Years Old is a single malt whisky that was matured in a single French oak butt at warehouse No.4 – the distillery’s oldest traditional stone dunnage warehouse.
Only a mere 151 hand-crafted decanters of The Glen Grant 65-year-old are being made available in select markets worldwide for the bargain price of $50,000 per decanter.
Additionally, if you happen to find yourself in Hong Kong, Glen Grant will celebrate the release of the 65-year-old single malt whisky in a collaboration with art group Random International entitled ‘Seasons’, a live-painting performance as part of Random International’s Pixelography series, which transforms reproducible digital source data into hand-painted masterpieces. The art group will create 65 custom artworks showcasing Glen Grant’s 65-year-old decanter and the passage of the four seasons.
The performance is currently scheduled to be open to the public at The Upper House Hong Kong on March 27-28, 2025.
