Glen Scotia Unveils 50-Year-Old
Campbeltown-based distillery Glen Scotia has released a 50-year-old single malt whisky as the first edition of their new Elements of Campbeltown collection celebrating the Celtic five-fold knot, which symbolizes the harmony of air, water, fire, and earth as they connect to form the fifth element, the spirit.
Glen Scotia Elements of Campbeltown Release Number One: Air was matured in in refill American oak hogsheads, and bottled at a natural cask strength of 42.3% alcohol by volume [84.6 proof] and is said to produce notes of almond, apple, coconut and vanilla.
Only a mere 100 individually numbered crystal decanters of Glen Scotia Elements of Campbeltown Release Number One: Air are being made available worldwide for $46,500 per decanter.
