GlenAllachie Reveals White Heather
Speyside distillery GlenAllachie has released a reborn White Heather – a blended Scotch whisky brand from decades ago.
The reborn version of GlenAllachie White Heather is a 21-year-old small batch blend of single grains and single malts from the Highlands, Islay and Speyside. The aforementioned whiskies spent 18 years in first-fill American barrels, sherry butts and second-fill barrels and hogsheads, then was matured for three more years in a selection of Pedro Ximénez puncheons, oloroso puncheons and Appalachian virgin oak before finally being bottled at 48% alcohol by volume [96 proof] and is said to contain notes of butterscotch, heather honey, orange peel and smoke.
Only 2,000 bottles of GlenAllachie White Heather 21 Years Old are being made available for $165 per bottle.
