Glenglassaugh Unveils Batch 3 From Rare Vintage Cask Collection
The Glenglassaugh Distillery has released Batch 3 from their Rare Vintage Cask collection, with each of the eight casks being distilled between 1965 and 1986.
All eight casks from Glenglassaugh’s Batch 3 have been matured in oak for between 30 and 50 years. Among the notable notes contained in some of the casks are tropical fruit and caramelized oak from the 1965 cask and currants and dates from the 1968 cask.
The eight casks that make up Glenglassaugh’s Batch 3 are:
1965 Cask #3510 – Hogshead – 50 Years Old 40.1% alcohol by volume [80.2 proof]
1967 Cask #1114-1 – Hogshead – 49 Years Old 42.7% alcohol by volume [85.4 proof]
1968 Cask #2230 – Pedro Ximénez Sherry Puncheon – 47 Years Old 46.1% alcohol by volume [92.2 proof]
1972 Cask #1721 – Massandra Sherry – 44 Years Old 42.4% alcohol by volume [84.8 proof]
1973 Cask #5638 – Bourbon Barrel – 42 Years Old 40.6% alcohol by volume [81.2 proof]
1975 Cask #1277-1 – Sauternes Hogshead – 47 Years Old 50.5% alcohol by volume [101 proof]
1978 Cask #2343 – Pedro Ximénez Sherry Puncheon – 38 Years Old 42.5% alcohol by volume [85 proof]
1986 Cask #1393 – Pedro Ximénez Sherry Puncheon – 30 Years Old 42.6% alcohol by volume [85.2 proof]
