Glengoyne Adds To Their Teapot Dram Series
Highland distillery Glengoyne has released an addition to their Teapot Dram Series – a sherry cask-aged single malt whisky they cheekily refer to as Glengoyne Teapot Dram No. 007.
Glengoyne Teapot Dram No. 007 has been matured in 10 first-fill European oak Oloroso sherry casks, bottled at 59.9% alcohol by volume [119.8 proof] and is said to contain notes of apples, cinnamon and sugar.
Only 3,993 bottles of Glengoyne Teapot Dram No. 007 are being made available for $155 per 700ml bottle.
The Teapot Dram series – a play on the USA’s Teapot Dome massive bribery and corruption scandal of the 1920s – pays homage to pre-1970s Glengoyne distillery custom where workers would be treated to three drams a day from a “bashed copper teapot” at the distillery.
