Glenlivet Goes Back To 1943
Not much good news was coming out of the world in 1943 but in one corner of Scotland, whisky, amazingly, was still being distilled in the midst of all the chaos that was World War II – and the Private Collection Glenlivet 1943 single malt whisky will be available at auction McTear’s Rare & Collectible Whisky Auction in Glasgow this week.
The Private Collection Glenlivet 1943 has been matured for 70 years in a sherry cask made of European oak, making it one of the rarest Scotch whiskies ever bottled.
Only 42 custom-created decanters of The Private Collection Glenlivet 1943 will be made available for what is expected to be winning bids between $40,000 and $50,000 on August 17, 2018.
