Glenmorangie Introduces Sonoma Chardonnay-Finished Whisky
Popular Highland distillery, Glenmorangie, has collaborated with Sonoma-Cutrer winery in Sonoma, California, to produce Glenmorangie Sonoma-Cutrer Reserve, a single malt whisky finished in chardonnay casks.
In 2005, Glenmorangie took a 10-year-old single malt and finished it for 15 years in chardonnay casks from Sonoma-Cutrer, the liquid was then bottled at 55.7% alcohol by volume [111.4 proof] and is said to contain notes of citrus, cocoa powder, mandarin, pears and vanilla.
Only 1,000 bottles of Glenmorangie Sonoma-Cutrer Reserve single malt whisky are being made available for $2,440 per 700ml bottle.
