Green River Unveils Their First Bourbon
Kentucky-based Green River Distilling Company has revived the Green River name and released their first bourbon under that name in more than 100 years. The Green River Distilling Company was formerly known as the Oz Tyler Distillery in Owensboro, Kentucky – but returned to its original name in 2020.
Green River Bourbon was made with Kentucky-grown corn, consisting of a mash bill of 70% corn, 21% winter rye, 9% malted rye and six-row barley, aged more than five years, bottled at 45% alcohol by volume [90 proof] and is said to contain notes of cherry, cinnamon and light leather.
Green River Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is being made available in Kentucky this month for $35 per bottle – but will be available later in the year in Indiana, Florida, Missouri and Tennessee.
