Heineken Dumbs It Down For World Cup In American Cities
The Netherlands-based Heineken has produced a promotional campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to “help” American football fans properly enjoy and understand the game after the USMNT advanced to the Round of 16 with a win over Bosnia and Herzegovina while the Dutch departed and must watch the remainder of the tournament after their loss to Morocco.
The “helpful” promotional campaign translates the 2026 FIFA World Cup sport for Americans attending matches in select host cities – Atlanta, New York and Philadelphia – using terms familiar in baseball, basketball and American football.
Heineken will be using the promotional campaign in the select host cities via digital street furniture and networks near fan fests, stadiums and transit hubs.
