Lochlea Celebrates Sixth Anniversary With Whisky Release
Lowlands Lochlea Distillery has released a limited edition whisky – Lochlea 6 Year Old – to celebrate, appropriately enough, their sixth anniversary.
Lochlea 6 Year Old blends liquid from six casks – three bourbon barrels and three Oloroso sherry casks – from the distillery’s inaugural year of 2018, was bottled at 50% alcohol by volume and is said to offer notes of berries, caramel, dates, ginger and vanilla.
Lochlea 6 Year Old is currently scheduled to be released on January 24, 2025 – in conjunction with Burns Night [January 25], celebrating Scottish poet Robert Burns. The distillery’s location on Lochlea Farm is where Burns lived and worked between 1777 and 1784.
Only 2500 bottles of Lochlea 6 Year Old are being made available worldwide for $110 per bottle.
