Mac-Talla Whisky Emerges From Aberargie Distillery
UK-based Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers has released the latest in their Mac-Talla series – Mac-Talla Virgin Oak – a limited edition Islay single malt.
Mac-Talla Virgin Oak is somewhat of a Frankenstein creation as a no-age-statement whisky that was matured in a combination of bourbon barrels and virgin American oak casks sourced from Kentucky then finished in virgin oak, before being bottled at Aberargie Distillery in Scotland.
Mac-Talla Virgin Oak was bottled at 53.8% alcohol by volume [107.6 proof] and is said to offer notes of apple, butterscotch, toffee and a softened version of the famous Islay peat profile.
Mac-Talla Virgin Oak is being made available in Australia, Europe, Israel and Japan for $90 per bottle beginning in February 2025.
