Nc’nean Unveils The Huntress
Organic whisky distillery, Nc’nean, has released the Huntress 2022 – a single malt that is the first of their new spring series – named after the ‘queen of spirits’, Neachneohain.
Nc’nean Huntress 2022 features the use of three different yeast varieties and one of those yeast strains – Distila Max RM – is typically used in the production of rum production.
Nc’nean Huntress 2022 was aged for three years in a combination of STR-red wine and ex-bourbon oak casks, bottled at 48.5% alcohol by volume [97 proof] and is said to contain notes of tropical fruits.
In 2021, Nc’nean became the first whisky distillery in the UK to be verified as having net zero carbon emissions from their own operations.
Only 4,447 bottles of Nc’nean The Huntress 2022 are being made available in the UK on ncnean.com for $110 per bottle, with an expected release later in the year to Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Sweden.
