Prima And Ultima Add Eight More Whiskies In Second Release
Spirits behemoth Diageo has released the second offering in their Prima & Ultima series featuring eight cask strength singe malt whiskies that are either the first or last of their kind, from the Talisker, Mortlach, The Singleton and [newly restored] Brora distilleries.
Diageo’s second release in the Prima & Ultima series includes a rare Lagavulin single malt, a Brora single malt extracted from the last of the distillery’s casks in 1980; a single malt from The Singleton of Glendullan 1992 which spent 14 years maturing in two ex-Madeira barriques and a 1981 Linkwood single malt which was aged in PX- and Oloroso-seasoned casks, as well as new American oak.
Only 376 Prima & Ultima sets are being made available – via registration at www.theprimaandultimatecollection.com [with a retail value of $32,720] until August 23, 2021.
After registration closes, the first set will be auctioned online through Sotheby’s in September 2021 in Hong Kong with all proceeds from the auction being donated to humanitarian charity Care International.
