Roe & Co Reveals Japanese Whisky-Inspired Irish Whiskey
Dublin-based Roe & Co, owned by spirits behemoth, Diageo, has released Sugi – a new Irish whiskey inspired by Japanese whisky and incorporating the porous Japanese sugi wood in the maturation process.
Roe & Co Japanese Sugi Irish Whiskey was matured with Japanese sugi wood implants in each cask, bottled at 46% alcohol by volume (92 proof) and is said to impart notes of lychee, matcha tea, orris root, sandalwood and tropical fruits.
Roe & Co Japanese Sugi Irish Whiskey is recommended served neat, over ice or in highballs.
Roe & Co Distillery Japanese Sugi Irish Whiskey is being made available via the Roe & Co official website for $70 per bottle.
