Stock Up For World Whisky Day This Weekend
World Whisky Day is nearly here and you don’t want to be caught empty-handed when it comes to the celebration of everybody’s favorite brown liquid, do you. WhiskyCritic thought not. So we have compiled a brief list of whiskies you might want to try and stock up on tomorrow in preparation for the big event this weekend.
Macallan 12 – We recently gave this single malt a test drive and can report that it will be more than adequate as a celebratory drink for WWD purposes.
Russell’s Reserve – No need to be all snooty and “reserve” your whisky tastings for single malts, right? RR is not our exact cup of tea in the bourbon department but we’re not “agin” it either.
Lavagulin 16 – It’s a peaty whisky so if you like the peat, then may we suggest the Lavagulin 16?
Glenmorangie Signet – If you like chocolate – and really, who doesn’t? – then you will like this single malt with distinctly chocolate and mocha notes.
Evan Williams Single Barrel 2004 – Then again, if you like spice and cinnamon, then this is the whisky for you.
Amrut Fusion – If you want to get all wild and crazy for WWD, then WC suggests you try some Amrut Fusion – a combination of Scottish peated barley and Indian unpeated barley that should get your knees to knocking.
World Whisky Day is on Saturday, May 17, 2014.
