The Balvenie Debuts 19-Year-Old Single Malt Whisky
Speyside distiller The Balvenie has released a 19-year-old single malt Scotch whisky they are calling “Edge of Burnhead Wood” which will join their Stories series of single malt whiskies – whiskies which are inspired by tales of “endeavor, craft and unexpected twists” and includes a 12-year-old “The Sweet Toast of American Oak”, the 14-year-old “The Week of Peat”, and the 26-year-old “A Day of Dark Barley”.
The Balvenie Edge of Burnhead Wood 19-year-old, The Edge of Burnhead, tells the story of blending fresh heather and barley with the single malts ingredients including fresh heather from nearby Burnhead Wood, water from Convel hills and the distillery’s homegrown barley.
The Balvenie Edge of Burnhead Wood has been bottled at 48.7% alcohol by volume [97.4 proof] and is said to contain notes of cloves, caramelized dates and oak.
The Balvenie The Edge of Burnhead Wood 19 Years Old is being made available worldwide for $325 per bottle.
