The Dalmore Adds To Cask Curation Series
The Dalmore has released The Red Wine Cask Edition as the third entry in their Cask Curation Series. The Dalmore Red Wine Cask Edition is a collaboration with Château Mont-Redon of Châteauneuf-du-Pape from the Rhone wine region in France. Château Mont-Redon’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape red wines are typically blends of Grenache Noir (57%), with Syrah (33%), Mourvèdre (9%).
The Dalmore Red Wine Cask Edition consists of a trio of single malts – aged 24, 34, and 43 years – all of which were aged in Château Mont-Redon red wine casks.
The 24-year-old whisky is bottled at 40.7% alcohol by volume [81.4 proof] and is said to carry notes of crème brûlée, orange and toffee. The 34-year-old is bottled at 40.5% alcohol by volume [81 proof] and is said to impart notes of honey, licorice and vanilla. The 43-year-old is bottled at 40.3% alcohol by volume [80.6 proof] and is said to contain notes of cocoa, dark chocolate and espresso.
Only 150 sets of The Dalmore Red Wine Cask Edition are being made available for a mere $44,450 per set.
