The GlenAllachie Unveils Meikle Tour Whiskies
The GlenAllachie has released a pair of Meikle Tòir single cask peated single malt whiskies – each aged in a different sherry cask – one of Meikle Tòir’s single cask single malt whiskies was aged in a 2018 Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead while the other was aged in a 2019 Oloroso sherry hogshead.
Meikle Tòir 2018 Single Cask was aged in a first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry cask for seven years, bottled at 59.9% alcohol by volume [119.8 proof] and is said to impart notes of chocolate, citrus and hazelnuts.
Meikle Tòir 2019 Single Cask was matured for six years in an Oloroso sherry cask, bottled at 60.5% alcohol by volume [121 proof] and is said to exude notes of fig, mocha and orange.
Only 355 bottles of Meikle Tòir 2018 Single Cask and 357 bottles of Meikle Tòir 2019 Single Cask are being made available only at The GlenAllachie Distillery, with both going for $100 per bottle via The GlenAllachie’s official website.
