The Macallan Adds Folio 8 To Archival Series
The Macallan has released Folio 8 – the latest installment in their Archival Series which is destined exclusively for the global travel retail (GTR) market segment. The Macallan’s Archival Series was launched in 2015 and showcases the brand’s advertising campaigns from the 1980s and 1990s.
The Macallan Folio 8 is a nod to a billboard campaign from the 1980s called ‘The Colossus of Nose’ – a play on words referencing the famous Colossus of Rhodes statue from Chares of Lindos depicting the Greek sun god Helios.
The Macallan Folio 8 was matured in European sherry-seasoned oak casks, bottled at 43% alcohol by volume and is said to impart notes of cinnamon, ginger and lemon.
The Macallan Folio 8 features a booklet commemorating the advertising campaign, packaged with the bottle in a book-shaped box, as well as additional digital content and is being made available at selected The Macallan airport boutiques worldwide for $400 per bottle.
