Loch Lomond Releases Whiskies To Promote Golf Tournament
Loch Lomond has released a pair of single malt whiskies to honor the upcoming 153rd Open Championship, which is currently scheduled to occur from July 17-20, 2025 at the Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland while the Women’s Open will take place at Royal Porthcawl from July 30 to August 3, 2025 in Wales.
The first release, Loch Lomond Open Special Edition 2025, is a non-age statement single malt that was initially matured in American oak barrels, finished in Chianti wine casks, bottled at 46% alcohol by volume [92 proof] and is said to impart notes of apples, raspberries and vanilla.
The second release, Loch Lomond 2025 Open edition, is a 22-year-old single malt, initially matured in American oak barrels and hogsheads, finished in first-fill Spanish oak casks [signifying the sinking of the Spanish Armada ship, La Girona, that sank near Royal Portrush in 1588], bottled at 46.7% alcohol by volume [93.4 proof] and is said to impart notes of honey, toffee and vanilla.
Both Loch Lomond Open editions are being made available in limited quantities at select retailers.
