Whisky Exchange Rolls Out Lost in Time Collection
The Lost in Time collection by The Whisky Exchange features eight single malts from Speyside distilleries. In cooperation with Chivas Brothers, the range offers a glimpse into the whisky making history of a bygone era.
Almost every expression in the collection is aged between 20 and 33 years and comes from a single cask. Among the collection’s expressions, Allt-a-Bhainne provided a 32-year-old cask given to the collection at 59.9% ABV. Since the distillery usually makes whisky for blends, its contribution is noteworthy.
Chris Bolton, own label and brand product manager at The Whisky Exchange, said: “These single casks represent a moment in time.
“Searching for exceptional single malts is not just about finding the right barrels, it’s about selecting a cask at the right moment in maturation, where the spirit character and maturity harmonize, and the distillery’s true style shines through.”

Another pair of whiskies came from a Glenlivet partner. A 31-year-old single malt from Braes of Glenlivet Distillery, released in 1992, just before it changed its name to Braeval in 1994. The ABV is 50.7%. Also offered is a 28-year-old single malt, crafted from American oak barrels and bottled at 62.6%
In addition, Glen Keith contributed a 31-year-old expression bottled at 47.5% ABV valued at £768 (US$973), while Glentauchers contributed the collection’s oldest whisky, a 33-year-old bottled at 51.9% ABV. Miltonduff contributed a 20-year-old expression bottled at 49% ABV.
Notably, one of the most expensive single malts in the collection, the 62.4% ABV expression from Glenlivet, boasts a price tag of £1,742 (US$2,208). Compared with an old expression aged 30 years that was contributed by Longmorn, a century after it was founded. The expression has a 54.4% ABV.
Billy Abbott, brand ambassador at The Whisky Exchange, said: “From light and fruity to rich and creamy, each of these whiskies shines a light on what makes its distillery different and special.
“With drams here from long-running producers like The Glenlivet, celebrating its 200th anniversary this year, as well as more recently founded distilleries like Braeval, they all tell stories of flavor and time.”
