Yamazakura Brings Its Mountain Cherries To European Whisky Markets
The newest Japanese whisky to hit the block is Yamazakura – a 16-year-old blend that has been matured in Bourbon barrels and has a mash bill of 80% corn and 20% corn. Yamazakura – which translates to mountain cherry trees in Japanese – is said to produce notes of coconut, fig and licorice.
Only 1,192 bottles of Yamazakura will be available for $145 per bottle in European markets beginning in November 2015.
