UK-based bottler Gordon & MacPhail will release a 1972 Speyside whisky from Coleburn Distillery – the first of four commemorative whiskies to be released celebrating the bottler’s 125th anniversary. Coleburn Distillery was founded in 1897 and produced whisky until it closed in 1985.

The Coleburn 1972 was matured in a re-fill sherry puncheon, bottled at 62.4%% alcohol by volume [124.8 proof] and is said to contain notes of apricots, butterscotch and mint.

Only 363 bottles of Gordon & MacPhail’s Coleburn 1972 are being made available for $2,000 per bottle.

The remaining four commemorative single malts will be released during 2020
