WhistlePig Releases Piggyback Rye
WhistlePig has released Piggyback Rye in memory of its co-creator, master distiller Pete Pickerell, who died in November last year.
WhistlePig Piggyback Rye is made with 100% rye and has been aged for six years – Pickerell chose the name ‘Piggyback’ to “express the love and respect he had for the bartending community” – and the pig depicted on the bottle is wearing Pickerell’s favored Stetson hat.
WhistlePig Piggyback Rye is said to contain notes of cinnamon, cocoa and vanilla.
WhistlePig Piggyback Rye Whiskey is being made available for $50 per 750ml bottle in Florida, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Vermont and Washington DC in April 2019.
