Cider Meets Irish Whiskey In New Tullamore D.E.W.
Cider is wildly popular, whiskey is wildly popular – so it was only a matter of time before the two were introduced to each other – and in this case, the meeting has come about in Tullamore D.E.W. Cider Cask Irish whiskey. Slated to be made only between September and November each year – matching the Irish apple harvest period – Tullamore D.E.W. Cider Cask used ex-bourbon oak casks to ferment cider, then replaced that cider with the Irish whiskey for a maturation period of three months.
Tullamore D.E.W. Cider Cask was bottled at 40% alcohol content [80 proof] and will only be available through June 2015.
