1978 Was A Very Good Year For Glenmorangie
Argentina wins the World Cup, the world’s first test tube baby is born and so is Kobe Bryant. 1978 also happens to be the year when Glenmorangie’s recently released Pride 1978 whisky was coaxed out of a mere five barrels – which had all once contained French Premier Grand Cru claret for 15 years prior to hosting what would become Pride 1978 whisky. Only 700 bottles of Pride 1978 – which is said to have scent notes of chestnut, toffee and cherries – were elicited from those five casks and bottled at 47.4% alcohol content [94.8 proof].
Glenmorangie Pride 1978 whisky will only be available – as long as supplies last – for a mere $5825 per bottle until July 22, 2014.
