In Welsh Wind Rolls Out First Whisky
In the Welsh Wind’s inaugural single malt whisky release is a tribute to Welsh craftsmanship and heritage with an infusion of ‘In the Welsh Wind’. There are only 680 bottles of this limited edition available, and everyone is invited to a celebration at the Welsh Wind distillery on 26 April.
“We are incredibly excited to share our first whisky with the world,” said Ellen Wakelam, Co-founder and Director of In the Welsh Wind Distillery.
“This release marks a significant milestone for us as we make our mark on the Welsh whisky industry. We invite whisky enthusiasts and curious minds alike to join us for a day of celebration and camaraderie.”
In the Welsh Wind Sold Out Launch Whisky Cask
The new-make spirit is produced at the distillery using locally grown barley and unkilned malt, which will be turned into a single malt whisky. A limited number of casks have been made available as an early allocation of the whisky.
Casks of the distillery’s new-make spirit were made available to the general public so they could try a portion of the 100% Welsh single malt whisky before it is released. At the moment of writing, they were all sold out.
Co-owner and director of In the Welsh Wind, Ellen Wakelam, said: “To have sold out of our 30-litre casks is a massive achievement for us. We are hugely grateful that so many people have seen the excitement in what we are doing and have trusted us in this way.”
Each bottle captures the spirit of Welsh whisky and is distilled in a state-of-the-art iStill. The release event at Gogerddan Arms distillery in Tanygroes offers attendees the opportunity to learn about Welsh whisky history and share their own.
Guests will be able to tour the distillery for free, meet the people behind the business, and learn about the company’s commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and sustainability.
