Daniel Weller Spelt Debuts
Buffalo Trace Distillery has released the second installment of their experimental Daniel Weller spelt wheat series, created in 2023 and honoring 18th century Kentucky whiskey distiller Daniel Weller was instrumental in helping create bourbon distilling.
Buffalo Trace Daniel Weller Spelt Wheat uses European-prominent Emmer wheat and was matured for 10 years before being bottled at 47% alcohol by volume [94 proof] and is said to offer notes of butterscotch, caramel, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and vanilla.
Daniel Weller Spelt Wheat is being made available for $550 per bottle.
